History of Sassy

Sassy History:

Sassy was really begun in 1977 when, disappointed that cable television was just a segmented version of broadcast TV with no vision of what it could become, Jack wrote a small booklet entitled: “A Narrow-Minded Approach Could Save Cable TV.”  He distributed the booklet to media.

The booklet explains how interactive cable applications could provide benefits for users and for the organizations that support them.  How it could address many user challenges, and fulfill many of their needs.

The only two responses came from CBS.  One challenged us to create an example of the Sassy approach suggested in the booklet.  Jack responded by describing two applications: a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural channel, and a channel for seniors and families with children.

This blog/site is an outgrowth of those efforts.
